Our Services

Dog Walking

Private one-on-one dog walks are the perfect opportunity for the staff at Dog Walking South Jersey to give your furry friend some undivided attention. It’s also a great way for us to get to know each other better, which makes future walks and activities that much more enjoyable for everybody.

Our walks are actually quite productive, too. We do our best to make sure your dog gets sufficient exercise, while safely enjoying the outdoor activity and getting to know the surroundings better. We encourage dogs to get to know their environment, to check out all the curious-smelling things outside. This serves to lower any possible anxiety, and gives us a chance to teach your dog about potential safety issues, proper boundaries, and social interaction.

These are just a few of the countless features in all Dog Walking South Jersey programs. We know that each pet is unique and there’s no one-size-fits-all program for the best pet care or leash training. For this reason, we customize the service based on your pet’s general activity and energy level, age, and overall personality. Believe it or not, there’s quite a lot that goes into building the best dog walking program, and it’s one of those services that evolves over time, too. As we get to know your dog and each become more comfortable around the other, those walking sessions will become that much more enjoyable.

Dog Running

Is your dog a runner? For many dogs, much like people, there are countless different personality types, one of which is a runner. Some breeds are naturally more inclined to have such an innate desire, but we’ve seen it across nearly every breed.

But, what happens if you, the owner, are not also the running type? Too often this leads to unhappy pets and frustrated owners. If you’re in this situation, Dog Walking South Jersey can help! We have experienced runners who have the stamina to keep up with even the strongest of breeds.

Once we get to know your dog and establish a good sense of his or her endurance levels, we’ll match your pet with an appropriate human running companion. Together, they’ll ensure your dog gets just the right amount of running, walking, and healthy outdoor activity. And of course, everything is performed by our highly trained professional dog walkers/runners with the utmost focus on your pet’s safety and well-being.

Leash Training

All of the walking and running arrangements at Dog Walking South Jersey assume that your dog has at least a minimally adequate familiarity with proper leash behaviors. As time goes on and the bond between your dog and our team grows stronger, the quality of leash behavior will undoubtedly improve.

We also understand that in the beginning there may be some difficulty, much of which depends on your dog’s personality and the quality of the walking and leash training that has already been done. But, if your dog is a natural puller, demonstrates leash aggression, or you just can’t seem to find a happy, cooperating middle ground regarding the leash, our team can help. We’ve worked with dogs of all types, and are well-trained on how to properly introduce and utilize the leash with any type, size, and breed of dog.

Your pet’s progress through our leash training programs will depend on a multitude of factors including age, personality, breed, size, and psychological characteristics. These factors also affect when and in what situations dogs may pull, lunge, and bark at other dogs or people. All of these issues are addressed as part of our leash training programs.

Socialization

The best time to begin socializing your puppy is when he reaches one month old. From here through about four or five months old is the most advantageous time to teach your dog how to interact with the outside world, experience new places without fear or anxiety, and properly handle meeting new people, other dogs, and other types of animals. The obvious goal is to broaden your dog’s horizons and help him grow into a friendly, confident, and well-mannered adult.

The team at Dog Walking South Jersey has extensive experience in this field, not just with puppies but with dogs of all ages. While it’s easiest to begin socializing dogs when they are young, it is still entirely possible to introduce adolescent and adult dogs to other people and pets without fear of bringing out anxiety or aggression in your pet. Of course, this requires proper training and preparation, and success depends on a vast number of factors. If your dog is in need of socialization, we can definitely help you both have the best experiences!
